Automation & Scripting with Python

Let Python do the boring work. Across six training days you'll automate files, spreadsheets, and everyday tasks, learning practical scripting skills that save hours and impress employers.

Format

6 training days across 2 weeks (Friday to Sunday over two weekends), 6 hours per day.

Daily schedule

Six hours of training each day, with a lunch break and two short breaks:

• 09:00 – 10:30 — Session 1
• 10:30 – 10:45 — Short break
• 10:45 – 12:15 — Session 2
• 12:15 – 13:15 — Lunch break
• 13:15 – 14:45 — Session 3
• 14:45 – 15:00 — Short break
• 15:00 – 16:30 — Hands-on lab & wrap-up

Day-by-day curriculum

• Day 1 — Fri, Mar 12: Scripting basics — running scripts, arguments, the command line
• Day 2 — Sat, Mar 13: Working with files — reading and writing text, paths with pathlib
• Day 3 — Sun, Mar 14: Spreadsheets & CSV — automating data files
• Day 4 — Fri, Mar 19: The web — requests, downloading, simple scraping
• Day 5 — Sat, Mar 20: Scheduling & OS tasks — os and shutil, automating chores
• Day 6 — Sun, Mar 21: Automation project — build a tool that saves you hours
